Education Ministry Update

From: Lois Stewart, Mission Facilitator for Schools, serving Commissioned Workers

February 2021

I am so excited to share that the Northern Illinois District elementary and high schools all opened in August with some form of in person and/or hybrid remote instruction. Praise to God for the planning and efforts of administration and staff who worked tirelessly to open the school doors and welcome students back for another year of learning focused on life in Christ and their academics.

Many of our free-standing early childhood centers were able to reopen at some point in the summer following DCFS guidelines. This allowed them to offer care and assist families that needed summer care for the little children. Most of those centers remain open as well as many others that opened at the start of the school year.

Although there have been bumps and hurdles along the way, God has blessed the NID as we move further into the 2020-2021 school year. We know that God holds all our schools, workers, students, and families close to Himself. All schools are focusing on the 3 Ws – Word, Wellness, and Witness.

To God be the glory for our schools and workers!
