Deaconess Lori Wilbert has been serving the inmates of Stateville Correction Center in Crest Hill, Illinois since 1986 in accord with Jesus’ admonition to His followers to visit those in prison, for by so doing, they are actually visiting Him and will be rewarded on the Last Day (see Matthew 25:31-46). Here she is interviewed by Rev. Matt Troester of St. Paul Lutheran Church in nearby Matteson. Deaconess Wilbert shares about COVID’s effect on her ministry and words from the inmates themselves.
