Non-Rostered Teacher Training 2023

Our second annual training for non-rostered teachers, walking through the six chief parts of our faith as outlined in Luther’s Small Catechism, will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 950 Hart Road, Batavia, IL 60510, on September 9, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

The title of the day is The Faith Once for All: Your Life in Christ. It is a study compiled and led by our own LCEF District Vice President, Joe Willmann. The seven lessons presented that day are:

  1. Death and resurrection: The story of you (Baptism)
  2. Love God, love neighbor: God’s will for your life (10 Commandments)
  3. What God says about Himself (The Creed)
  4. Speaking to God (The Lord’s Prayer)
  5. It’s not about you (Parable of the Prodigal Son)
  6. I forgive you all of your sins (Confession and the Office of the Keys)
  7. For you (The Sacrament of the Altar)

Our hope is that your educators walk away with new (or renewed) understanding of the good gifts God has given to us and are energized as they head into the school year.

We would encourage school administrators to join your teachers at the event, or if you can’t make it that day, to have a commissioned worker at your school join them! That way, if there are questions later, these teachers will have a built-in point person to go to.

Please register by Thursday, August 31, 2023 so that we may plan accordingly for your (included) lunch.

The work of this training module fits hand-in-hand with the LCMS Northern Illinois District’s mission pillar of WORD: Helping congregations be more centered on a rich life of Word and Sacrament, with congregational support in transitions as well as time of joys and sorrows.
